Druk Butter Lamp

A ring of dragons drawn in fine cream gold line around a central dragon, each chasing a flaming jewel through small blue clouds on an open amber field, inside a stepped band of rainbow stripes that fans outward in rays toward the corners. These dragons are drawn in line rather than filled, like the gold outline on a thangka, and the jewels are the norbu scattered across the field like seed. In Tibetan painting the coloured rays around a deity are the light that radiates from a realised mind, and the field of dragons sits inside them. For a formal sitting room or a prayer room.
