Druk Sungold

Five blue dragons, one at the centre and four at the quarters, on a saffron field dotted with small clouds, with a canopy shape closing each end, a blue key pattern and a band of linked squares in rose and blue. It is the same five fold order that shapes a mandala and the five Buddha families, a centre and four directions. Dragons are guardians in Tibetan usage, painted at doorways and on pillars, so the layout sets a protector at the middle and one facing each way, under the parasol that shades what is honoured. The classic housewarming piece of the five: an entrance hall or the main family room.
