Palbeu Honey

A saffron field left open around a single blue fret roundel with a small gold flower at its heart, stepped fret brackets in the four corners, and a broad band of gold brown meander fret at the edge. The roundel is built from the continuous key pattern weavers use to mean unbroken continuity, a line that turns in on itself and never ends, the same promise as the palbeu drawn in squares, while the small flower at its heart is a lotus seat in miniature. The same fret runs round the whole border, so centre and frame say one thing. The most architectural piece in the collection.
