Palbeu Ochre

The same open layout on a deep burnt amber field: one blue scroll rosette holding a gold endless knot at the centre, four scrollwork corner pieces, and a rust brown band of small medallions inside a wide navy band of flowers. The ground is the colour of dark honey and old butter lamp light, and the blue ring of scrolls reads as a lotus held round the knot, so the knot is what is offered and the lotus the seat it rests on. Nothing else sits on the field, so nothing competes with the one idea. The deepest of the three knot pieces, for a room kept low lit, and a fitting anniversary gift.
